I never had any problem walking outside or at night, never experienced a break in for my car and I ALWAYS say a security guard any time of the night (always said hi to them too)Now, if youre still reading this place is absolutely gorgeous. They had a tent problem with the homeless but addressed it and havent seen much of a problem since then after the summer of 2020 (although the poor homeless camps moved down the streets near Larimer). Sure there are homeless people but thats a given in downtown Denver. I lived here when they first opened in July of 2019 and moved out Jan 2021Ill start off with the reality: it is in the five points neighborhood so its not the prettiest place to step outside compared to other places in Denver. this only recently started happening but I really hope they crack down on that. Elevators are quick!COMPLAINT: Elevators can sometimes have dog urine in them. Pretty great to work or study from.MISC:Community forum is pretty funny and lets you connect with everyone. Modern furniture, indoor TVs/bar/fridge, outside area with fountain + grill, beautiful views, and plenty of seating. The pulley wrack in the weight room is also missing a rope hookup for triceps and foot related harnesses for hamstrings.17TH FLOOR/SKY LOUNGE:Its a combination of all the prior lobbies and the best by far. Currently, it only has a few kettlebells and looks pretty bare. If a genuine ab machine and another free-weight set for the power-wrack in the corner were added, itd be fantastic. The cardio area has a lot of unused space too. Considering how many people this building can hold, it gets full quickly. Everything is in good order and pretty new, but.COMPLAINT: The free-weight area is. The other side is for weight lifting: Barbells, dumbbells, leg extension machine, squat rack, lat machine, and a pulley rack. I just wish theyd leave it open until 10pm, but the covid creepy crawlies come out after 8.6TH FLOOR/GYM:One side is cardio with stair-masters, treadmills, ellipticals, ab blasters (non weighted kind), row machines, and a power-rack with kettlebells. The pool closes at 8pm (this I dont agree with), no guests, limited seating, and security watches it like a hawk. Theres also a DIY bike repair shop.5TH FLOOR/POOL LOUNGE:This is the largest public area with: A pool, jacuzzi, tons of seating and basking areas, plants, 3-4 grills, TVs, pool tables, and an inside granite entertainment area/kitchen.COMPLAINT: This one is due to the current covid crisis and how strict they have to be (which is understandable to a degree). It uses a locker system that texts/emails you a code to grab packages (unless theyre oversized). You can allow guests in by using an app which is nice.AMENITIES:The amenities are pretty great, but this is where a star gets lost on the 5th and 6th floor.GROUND FLOOR/FRONT LOBBY:Very spacious and beautiful furniture as well as the mail room. The entire building is locked down, so you can only go to your floor and the public areas. I don’t recommend bike storage as bikes get stolen pretty often here. The parking is covered and secured via a large rollup door - and offers fob-locked bike storage. The front doors can slam pretty loudly on their own so if you have inconsiderate neighbors, this might disturb you. The walls seem thick, windows are VERY insulated (I barely run the a/c), and the floors are firm so they dont vibrate when you walk around. The hardware, appliances, fixtures, bathroom, etc. RTD and restaurants are super close.CONSTRUCTION/HARDWARE:The building itself is solid. Welton street doesnt get busy and the urban campers from prior reviews are gone. Loss of star due to gym being small, missing important accessories/equipment, pool closing at 8pm, and dog urine in elevators.STAFF:Brandon was a joy to work with and really took the time to answer all my questions. Expect to pay $100+ for common area electric/water/gas/etc (separate from your individual electric bill and parking fees).ORIGINAL REVIEW:QUICK SUMMARY/TL DR:Great, modern, SOLID place with wonderful staff - and theyve fixed the urban camper issue from other reviews. This is regarding a studio apartment facing southeast so maybe you’ll have better luck in a different unit. Also, utilities are pretty expensive. It feels like I live inside a washing machine. There’s a large drainage pipe behind the wall next to my bed and I hear water sloshing 24/7. UPDATE:So it’s been about half a year and one thing has been stuck in my head since moving here.
